The Bergman Center Foundation on Fårö is tasked with managing the public legacy of Ingmar Bergman, as stated in our statutes. It is a delicate responsibility to keep one of Sweden's and the world's most celebrated and renowned cultural figures alive and relevant to both knowledgeable and new audiences. We do this on Fårö, the place Ingmar Bergman chose as his own. We are a non-profit organization, and our income consists of a mix of public funds and our own revenues. Our own revenues come from our exhibition activities, our shop, film screenings, and other events such as the annual festival, Bergman Week.
Currently, all cultural institutions are struggling to make ends meet – grants are decreasing or remaining stagnant while costs are rising dramatically due to inflation. The Bergman Center is no exception.
We are working hard to keep our operations running and are grateful for any contributions we can receive. Please consider making a small donation HERE – from the price of a movie ticket to something larger.
If you are interested in making a larger donation or starting a partnership with us, feel free to contact us at info@bergmancenter.se.
We have several investments that need to be made, such as new flooring for our premises, upgrading our outdoor stage, and enhancing our creative workshop for children and young people. Your contribution would go toward these efforts.
Examples of companies and organizations we already collaborate with include: SF Studios, Destination Gotland, Ica Maxi Visby, The Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation, and many, many more.
