Den kylige småfifflaren Montezuma, MZ kallad, drygar ut sina inkomster från knarklangning som chaufför åt lokala gangsterbossen Lady Saddam. En dag får han ett nytt uppdrag. Att köra den oerhört vackra eskorttjejen Kadzo till hennes kunder och se till att de sköter sig. Instruktionerna är tydliga. MZ får inte under några omständigheter ha något att göra med Kadzo. Ändå faller MZ handlöst för den sofistikerade och snygga kvinnan. Samtidigt som han inväntar en stor drogleverans sätts en plan i verket för att, som MZ ser det, rädda Kadzo från en ohållbar situation. Men allt går fel. Mycket snabbt tappar MZ kontrollen. Medan han bränner sina broar blir det snabbt en fråga om inte vem, utan hur många MZ kommer dra med sig ner i avgrunden.

Sisters Anna and Ester are traveling by train with Anna's son Johan when they are forced by Ester's poor health to hole up in a hotel in a strange country seemingly on the verge of war. Anna shuns the attentions of her desperately ill sister. She goes out and picks up a man in a bar. Ester is left to cope with the pain of her desire and her illness; it seems they are one. Meanwhile the boy explores the mysteries of the old hotel, playing out the fears inspired by the passions around him.
